Nelson Lake
Nelson Lake completed day two of our Hayward weekend. It was fun to have such a big group of family and friends together. These are things my kids talk about and trust others made some memories as well. I personally enjoy the back-2-back tournaments best. The fish did not disappoint either. Josh Pingel finished his hot weekend with a win bringing a limit weighing 13.46 lbs with a 4.78 lb kicker. Nice weekend Pingel (1st & 2nd). Joe Bolder narrowly missed the win with a 13.18 limit of bass. 62 bass were caught weighing 141.24 lbs. So two great lake with over 250 lbs of bass. No dead fish again.
August 23
Yellow Lake
Well, 6th tournament of the year, and our 6th winner. Wayne "The Hag" Haglund no-boated his way to a 14.50 lb limit of dock busters. He anchored his bag with the big bass of the day at 4.09 lbs. Josh Pingel, AKA The Boater to Wayne, came in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 13.84 lbs. Yellow was of fire this day as 14 anglers caught 66 bass weighing 162.49 lbs. In other words, 13 of the 14 anglers had a 5 bass limit and these limits were all over 10 lbs. This is the third tournament in a row that was won by less than 1 lb. We have not had a run like this since the summer of 05' when we had 4 in a row. Odds are with the St. Croix river up next we may have our 4th in a row. We will see if Rick Lindus can continue his undefeated streak on "The Croix".
